SUMMARY:Tower of London Poppies
DESCRIPTION:See a new special commemorative display of ceramic poppies installed INSIDE the Tower of London to mark the 80th anniversary of the end of the Second World War. \nThe display of nearly 30\,000 of the original poppies\, made for the 2014 installation\, ‘Blood Swept Lands and Seas of Red’\, returns to the Tower\, marking the sacrifices made by so many during the Second World War. \nThe specially commissioned installation resembles a ‘wound’ at the heart of the Tower\, which was itself bombed during the Blitz. Poppies pour across the lawn overlooked by the ancient White Tower\, where the blood-red flowers form a crater\, with ripples flowing outwards. \nOn display within the Tower’s walls\, the installation creates striking images\, reminding us of loss through war\, and of the long-lasting impact of conflict. It creates a shared space for visitors to remember and reflect on the collective sacrifice of so many in this important anniversary year. \nThe poppies are on loan from Imperial War Museums and were designed and made by the artist\, Paul Cummins. The new display has been created by the designer\, Tom Piper. \nOur price includes executive class coach travel and entry to the tower. \nTiptree – Outside St Lukes Church\, Church Road Tiptree CO5 0HF – 0800hrs\nFeering – Feering Hill bus stop\, Nr John Raven Court CO5 9PX – 0810hrs\nKelvedon – Bus stop opposite the post office\, High Street Kelvedon CO5 9AG – 0815hrs\nWitham – Bus stop outside Paddy Power Newland Street Witham CM8 1AH – 0830hrs\nGreat Notley\, Entrance to White Courts Estate\, Windermere Drive\, CM77 7UB – 0850hrs\nDunmow\, outside Dunmow club\, High Street\, CM6 1AE – 0910hrs\nTakeley\, Opposite The Four Ashes\, Dunmow Road\, CM22 6SB – 0920hrs

SUMMARY:Polar Express Norfolk
DESCRIPTION:Prices are per table\, equivalent to £82.50pp \nThe Polar Express™ Experience \nDo you believe? We do at the Mid-Norfolk Railway and that is why we are proud to be again hosting an exciting magical experience like no other. THE POLAR EXPRESS™ Train Ride is returning to the Mid-Norfolk Railway this December with the magic of the 2004 motion picture THE POLAR EXPRESS™ being theatrically re-created so you and your family can be immersed in the sights\, sounds and intrigue of this classic children’s tale.\n\nPrepare to be surrounded by the magic and wonder of the Christmas season! \nAs you and your family take in the festive decorations at THE POLAR EXPRESS™ Train Ride station\, you can almost hear the faint sound of sleigh bells in the distance and the fun begins.\n\nTHE POLAR EXPRESS™ is waiting for you at the platform. Wait for the train Conductor to invite you and the other passengers to climb aboard\, shouting “All aboooooard!”. Anticipation builds as you step onto the Train to be escorted to your seat by the Chefs from the film.\n\nBefore long\, scenes from the film come to life as dancing Chefs and Waiters arrive to serve cookies and hot chocolate. The children are invited to engage these exciting characters who are eager to hear from the youngsters about what makes the Christmas season special to them.\n\nWhile the hot chocolate lingers in your mouth and warms your tummy\, you will listen as the story of The Polar Express is told in its entirety. Chefs show pages from the beautifully illustrated book for the whole carriage to follow. A smile grows on your face as you watch your child become absorbed in the wonderment of the story.\n\nAs your adventure continues\, you notice other key elements of the story — both inside and outside your train — springing to life. Watch and listen as another scene unfolds on-board before your eyes.\n\nUpon arrival at the North Pole\, keep your eyes peeled for Santa’s sleigh and Christmas trees. Watch out for Santa waving and\, when the train stops\, listen out for the carriage door to slam as Santa gets on board. After the train departs the North Pole for the return voyage home\, you soon notice that the adventure isn’t over. Santa appears in your midst to present each passenger with their very own “First Gift of Christmas”\, a silver bell from his sleigh. Thinking back to the story\, you might like to remind the children to check their pockets for holes!\nWe encourage our guests\, young and old to wear pyjamas just as in the Film. Children love it and if you can persuade our older guests\, Mums\, Dads\, Granny and Grandpa to also join in\, the atmosphere in the train comes alive for a truly magical experience!\n\nArriving at East Dereham Railway Station for around 1pm we will first enter a marquee where there is chance to see some of the cast and grab a hot drink. We board the train for the 2.15pm departure. We will be sat in the Delux carriages\, and everyone that has purchased a seat gets a hot chocolate\, a cookie\, a souvenir ceramic mug to take home and a magic bell that is given to everyone from Father Christmas whilst on the train. \nWe should get back onto the Coach for around 5pm and we will head home. Traffic permitting\, arriving home for around 7pm \nDelux 1st Class Seating Souvenir Ceramic Mug\, Hot Chocolate\, a Cookie and a Polar Express bell for everyone. \nCost is £82.50 per person aged 2 and over. Under 2yrs are £25pp and we only have 10 places available. They will not have their own seat on the train (they will ride on an adults lap) and will not receive a cookie or hot chocolate or mug\, of course as an adult you can give them yours.
